TeamTalk v5.22 released

TeamTalk version 5.22 is now available for Download. This is new version comes with an addition to .tt files and tt:// URLs called “Join Code”. “Join Codes” makes it possible to publish server information and provide users with a short code/token to enter the server.

Join Code

In the desktop client you can create your server and press “Generate Join Code”. This will provide you with a “Join Code” that you can email or message to anyone so they can join the server.

Try e.g. to enter the Join Code: abcdefgh. This will make you enter the TeamTalk Official Server. Similar you can get a join code for your server that anyone can use.

New Features and Bug Fixes

Many thanks goes to Sihu Hwang for enabling AAC, Vorbis, etc. on Windows. Along with Join Codes this is one of the main features in the v5.22 released.

Here’s a list of the new features and bug fixes:

  • Default Qt Client
    • Ability to stream AAC, Vorbis, etc. on Windows
    • Option to disable sound device detection notifications in statusbar events
    • Ukrainian translation
    • Speak Client Statistics now refreshes network latency on Ctrl+T
    • Easy log on to server using Join Code
    • Fixed bug where the value of the Show chat history as list view instead of text edit setting was sometimes deleted
    • Fixed bug where only first resolved IP-address was used for connection attempt
    • Fixed bug where all servers with same name was deleted on server deletion
    • Updated Qt to 6.11 on Windows and macOS
  • Android Client
    • Easy log on to server using Join Code
    • Fixed bug where TeamTalk would crash when entering TTS settings
    • Fixed bug where the initial volume of media files did not match the settings screen
    • Fixed using Bluetooth headset microphone on some Xiaomi firmwares
  • iOS Client
    • Ukrainian translation
    • Easy log on to server using Join Code
    • Fixed bug where only first resolved IP-address was used for connection attempt
  • Server
    • Ability to open TCP/UDP ports using UPnP
    • Fixed performance issue when removing bans
