Many thanks to all the people who participated in the TeamTalk v5.3 beta testing! The final TeamTalk v5.3 release is now ready for download.
If you haven’t followed the beta releases then here’s a summary of all the new features in TeamTalk v5.3.
TeamTalk v5.3
TeamTalk now supports Facebook login so users do not have to remember username and password for their favorite TeamTalk servers.
TeamTalk server administrators can enable Facebook logins by adding a user account with the username “facebook”. This means that any Facebook user can log on to their TeamTalk server.
Once a Facebook user is logged on to a TeamTalk server it’s possible to see their TeamTalk assigned username using the View User Information dialog box. The assigned username visible in TeamTalk can be tracked back to the person’s Facebook profile.
Using Facebook logins on a TeamTalk server can be used to prevent abuse, which happens a lot unfortunately, so a person can be banned and not easily log in again from another location.
Another new feature is the ability to ban users from joining a channel. Previously it was only possible to ban people from the entire server. To ban someone you must either have a user account with ban ability or be operator of the channel. To remove the ban again you can click Channels menu-item and then “Banned Users from Channel”.
Also in the new v5.3 release it’s possible to use profiles when you run multiple TeamTalk instances. When you create a new TeamTalk instance from the Client-menu you’ll be asked to either choose an existing profile or create a new one.

Hi there, i tried to install the server with debian 7 but i got this error:
./tt5srv -wizard
./tt5srv: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14′ not found (required by ./tt5srv)
But with debian 8 i dont see this problem.
How can i fix it please?
Upgrade to Debian 8, or even 9! Or you could check this out, which gives some tips on upgrading glibc to 2.15 on Debian 7.

I’ve made a server-only distributions for Debian 7 i386 here: http://bearware.dk/teamtalk/v5.3/teamtalk-v5.3-debian7-i386.tgz
It should also run on x86_64.

Thanks a lot bjoern about your works.
Kind regards 🙂
Oops! I got this error: ./tt5srv: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Hi. I have problem with installed Teamtalk.
Portable version 5.3 working properly i see for example dash 1 of 5 on my server and installed version not working properly, i seee dash 1 of 1. Why i dont see corectly information? I using NVDA and teamtalk5classic.
Sounds like the same problem I have going through the tree on the installed classic client, not making it unusable, just a bit different. It should work just fine despite the information not being reported accurately.
can anyone tell me how the facebook login works ie how do the person log in also how does the lock nickname work please
You have to use the username “facebook” to make TeamTalk v5.3 log in as your Facebook account. You can also specify a specific Facebook account as username, e.g. 123456789@facebook.com. You’ll see your own Facebook username by logging in first as “facebook” user account first.
The lock nickname is the user-right to change nickname. If you don’t have the right to change your nickname, then your Facebook name will remain your nickname and it cannot be changed.
Read the Facebook login section in the manual for more info.

Where may I find assistance with this error?
